Josha Stradowski On The Wheel Of Time Season 2
Screen Rant : How do you interpret Rand ’s kinship with Egwene in season 2 ? It ’s romanticistic in the first time of year ; do you experience like there ’s a thread of that still there ?
Josha Stradowski : I retrieve a yarn of that romantic relationship is definitely still there , because it gives this feeling of home for the both of them . They have been to each other ’s natal day parties . I reckon that is , on a human degree , very [ much ] what they both involve . But I recall it also might transition to something else ; more like a brother / sis kind of love . But that ’s season three , maybe .
Do you have hopes for how Rand ’s love life plays out in the show , and is it dissimilar from the books ? It ’s jolly waste in the books .
Josha Stradowski : My secluded hope is that Rand and Lanfear terminate up together .
I feel like a plenty of people are hoping that , actually .
Josha Stradowski : I love that idea , but I suppose that ’s quite unlike from the source material . But it ’s definitely an interesting idea that I think we ’re playing with , because she is one of the very few people that in reality understand him , and also one of the very few people that does n’t really endeavor to ascertain him , or does n’t have a sure idea of who he needs to be .

Of course , she has her agenda , [ and ] she brings this darkness out of him , but [ it ’s ] the other way around as well . It ’s not only evil ; it ’s also that he lend out the Light Within in her .
I talked to you in short before the season come out , and I recall you talking about a moment where you said , “ Rand should give a coin to this boy , ” because you ’d read the books and it was part of his grapheme . Are there other moments in time of year 2 like that , that you were advocate for ?
Josha Stradowski : I experience like that happens on a daily foundation , in all probability . I will say particularly in time of year three , there is a lot of poppycock that I retrieve is very important for the character , which I ’m constantly talking about with a fortune of the other actors , the writers , and particularly Rafe . That is a thing that perpetually give way on , at least for time of year three . It ’s constantly develop , even on set .

One of the really cool thing this season was hear Rand ’s channeling evolve . I get it on you all worked with the VFX squad ; what was it like for you to retrieve a means to show that progression , and Rand getting more ascendence over his magnate ?
Josha Stradowski : Well , I think the difference with time of year one is that he figured [ out ] he had the amiss approach , and that ’s because of Logain . I wanted to show that if you practice the One Power , for hands , it ’s a very skillful feeling . There are so many descriptions in the Bible where Robert Jordan talk about [ how ] it ’s raging , it ’s cold , [ and ] it feels like you ’re 100 metre more active , but at the same prison term you know if you keep on using it , it will finally kill you . And , when you halt using it , it leaves this tremendous opinion of emptiness .
I ’m trying to capture that in those scant minute where we see Rand channeling , but I feel like he ’s not have it , because he ’s not own [ being ] the Dragon in season two . I think he ’s still run off from a pile of things because he ’s so afraid . He ’s learned some things , but I guess it ’s really [ not ] until the start of time of year three that he realizes that he needs to do it because otherwise , the world is going to end .
Rand only reunites with his friend from the Two Rivers at the conclusion of the season , and we have n’t get a line how they are around him [ after ] knowing that he ’s the Dragon yet . Can you say anything about what that dynamic is for season 3 ? Are they afraid of him ?
Josha Stradowski : I mean for all the main characters , they get what they need , and that is each other , but for all of them comes the home engagement that they also experience like they postulate to become something else . It ’s like this growing pain , and I recall Rand has that quite a passel . I finger like he wants to be there for his friend , he knows that he needs to be there for them to protect them , and the other way of life around as well , but he also needs to become the most dangerous valet de chambre alive . How can you do that with someone that knows your dad , or the girl who kissed you for the first time ? I do n’t know if that ’s Egwene , but in my head it is . So , I find like they all fight with this growing botheration , but you see why they are Quaker , and you see why they are together ; why they are the main characters of this story .
I spoke to Rafe , who said the whole 2d season postulate to be rewritten and there were a passel of things that alter from the original plan . Was there anything that you wish you ’d gotten to do , or anyone you care you had had more scenes with in that season ?
Josha Stradowski : You know , I go for someday I ’ll fly in the line , be lightning , [ and ] be roar , but I also felt like [ for ] season two , that was too presently . We should establish it up . So , I trust one day I ’ll be flying in the line .
About The Wheel Of Time Season 2
