Summary
The Wheel of Timeseason 2 put its characters to the test . Nynaeve al’Meara clamber with a cube from using the One Power , Egwene al’Vere found herself a captive of the Seanchan , and Rand al’Thor cozied up with some of the populace ’s most powerful villains . Even as it adapted central here and now from books two and three of Robert Jordan ’s heroic fantasy saga , The Wheel of Timeseason 2 found new way to force its characters to the brink , exploring the bound of their capabilities .
Two characters who were promote to their terminus ad quem inThe Wheel of Timeseason 2 are Moiriane and Lan . The Aes Sedai and Warder , previously inseparable , parted ways until reuniting in one of the most powerful minute ofThe Wheel of Timeseason 2 ending . Lan ’s journey in particular is explored more in the serial than in Jordan ’s Word , and his arc was once again compellingly institute to life sentence by Daniel Henney . Unlike in time of year 1 , much of Henney ’s workplace was done forth from the series ’ nitty-gritty cast which , while temporarily sacrifice elements like Lan ’s relationship with Nynaeve , take the character fresh maturation that will make him even stronger in season 3 .
Amazon Prime Video ’s The Wheel of Time season 3 is expected to adapt ten major competitiveness scenes from Robert Jordan ’s high fancy book serial publication .

Daniel Henney On The Wheel Of Time Season 2
Screen Rant : Lan spend a big chunk of time only with Moiraine this time of year , and otherwise he ’s kind of away from the Two Rivers character . How did your experience filming this season differ from the first ?
Daniel Henney : It ’s so crazy because the first season was shot in 2019 , and the second season was shot in 2021 . When I ’m asked question , we ’re sitting on the cusp of 2024 here ; it ’s really interesting . We made such incredible connections on that first season because we just felt like a gang of kids on a field trip together . I guess we should n’t say all kid ; Rosamund and I were the chauffeur . We felt up like we were on this astonishing journey together , which we were in the show and outside of the show .
So , there were decidedly minute in time of year two where I was away on my own doing things . It finger strange for me , Daniel , but I imagine it was right for Lan . I wish ascertain him off . I really like the stuff with him and the other Warders ; I thought it was really great to see the inner works of those relationship . I recall it strengthens him , so people can see him more as a man as opposed to this invincible , stoical warrior that never cries or laughs . He ’s valet de chambre and the One Power help him , but he ’s not invincible , as you could see in the first conflict in episode two of season two , where he ’s very vulnerable .
foresighted story scant , it was full of ups and downs . I miss the rest of the dramatis personae , I missed being with my friends , but when we got back together , it was fantastic , and in time of year three , there ’s more togetherness , which is nice .
One affair that is less present in the show so far compared to the books is Lan being kind of a mentor figure for Rand . Is there a chance we ’ll get a little more of that as the show pass on ?
Daniel Henney : I would say that I personally would not bet against it . I ’m being shipped off in two months to a place very far aside to fritter away some really unbelievable poppycock where I have to be in very secure shape . I ’m use up tree leaves and protein shakes , and I ’m in a double training docket right now , which could let in some of the stuff you ’re talk about .

Daniel Henney : I roll in the hay . I know Josha ’s been posting . I mean , come on with that , correct ? What is that ? He look like a Greek god .
I need to talk about the scene where Moiraine and Lan reunite in the finale , because I suppose it ’s one of the standouts of season 2 . What do you think Lan mean when he says he understands Moiraine ’s line about them not being compeer ? How were you imagining him near that interaction ?

Daniel Henney : There ’s a very important moment in the starting time of season two where Lan is speaking with Adeleas and Tomas , and they ’re walk him through what it feel like for an Aes Sedai to lose trace with the One Power . That ’s pretty profound for him , and they state him [ that ] maybe rather of talking so much , he should just shut up and listen . For me as an actor , moments like that inform moments at the ending , because I do n’t think he really just sat and listened . I do n’t intend specifically to her , but to the entire situation of what ’s happening , what she ’s been faced with , [ and ] how much pressure she ’s under .
She ’s so mission - get like him , which I find ironic , but he ’s a flawed world . He ’s a blemished person , just like we all are , and so I think he grow a bit fanatical and perchance a little bit selfish , and that ’s why he kind of acted out emotionally . I think he watch himself . I intend there ’s a moment off - tv camera somewhere where he was just like , “ Now she ’s in the midst of it and she need me to listen to her right now , and not accuse her of things , and not be a baby . ” That ’s kind of how I took it .
It ’s such an interesting dynamic with Lan , Moiraine , and Nynaeve , because he ’s improbably tight with both of them , but they ’re very different relationships . What do you think is the swelled difference in how he is to one of them versus the other ?
Daniel Henney : I mean , there are the obvious things with Moiraine . Like I ’ve allege before , it ’s a matrimony without all the safe stuff and nonsense , and with Nynaeve , it ’s a marriage with the salutary stuff . I cerebrate they ’re completely different containers .
With Moiraine , she represents nursing home to him . He ’s a son without a home , and she ’s represented that home for 20 - some - left years for him while they ’ve been on this journey to retrieve the Dragon Reborn . She ’s the main female figure in his liveliness , for whatever that ’s worth . She ’s represented so much to him , and that plays into your last doubtfulness of why he acted out [ and ] why he ’s get trouble processing . How would you [ pretend ] if you knew nothing else and the person that you saw as your home is now wanting to split up with you ?
Nynaeve is new to him . I do n’t want to use my friends as examples , but I ’ve take friends who are in their forty who have never fall in love before . When they do , finally , it ’s really funny because they ’re like high-pitched school tiddler again . And I ’m look at them as a forty - yr - old [ and ] I ’m like , “ Oh , you ’re just young in love . ”
I cerebrate [ for ] Lan , with Nynaeve , he ’s feel these feelings for the first clock time ; these substantial feeling of real sexual love and agitation . It ’s a beautiful thing , and it ’s really nerveless how , on the show , it ’s kind of exercise around ; how it does run . And fans and audiences seem to accept it . It ’s never been showcased before like this , relationships between man and adult female .
You get to do some very coolheaded physical material this season . Do you have a preferred stunt or action sequence ?
Daniel Henney : I jazz them all . I reckon the one that no one ’s going to really even clock is when Nynaeve goes through the Arches and she watch Lan in the Arches . I devolve on my Equus caballus …
They ’re always doing thing [ where it ’s ] like , “ Do we have to do it this way , guy rope ? Does it have to be this unmanageable ? ” and they ’re like , “ Yes , it has to be this hard . ” And so I ’m on the side of a drop , literally on a cliff , [ with a drop ] , like , a hundred foot down , and there ’s a trail alongside the top of the cliff that rides into where we ’re shooting . When I puzzle to set , I was like , “ Let me guess . I ’m gallop down that trail to go meet Nynaeve . ” They ’re like , “ Yes , exactly . How did you know ? ” I ’m like , “ Well , because it ’s the most difficult potential track ever , and you ’re go to make me do that . ” So , that ’s my favorite stunt ; I ’m good at rid now because we ’ve been doing it for so long , and I have a monolithic black Friesian Equus caballus that I feel very comfortable with , and I was just [ walking ] the side of the drop-off with him . And all of that was done in believably four or five takes .
If you really calculate , in the first time of year a quite a little of the well riding stuff is either kind of smoky or from the back , and some of that ’s not me . Some of it is , but [ the time of year two ] stuff is me , and so I ’m very proud of that . I ’m proud that you could put me on a cavalry a hundred yards away and call action , and I can get that cavalry to canter and gallop the speed that I want to , look good with the sword and the costume , get him to stop on a dime like that , and get off . That was a Brobdingnagian accomplishment for me .
