Shonen Jumpfeatures some of the best antagonists in manga and a new series prove that its villain deserves to be turn over as part of that group with one surprising scene . That manga , MamaYuyuby Yoshihiko Hayashi , has already made a name for itself by being very advanced with the classical tropes of the Hero and the Demon Lord . Its latest chapter shows it can also be creative with the concept of its main villain .
In chapter # 17 , understand by David Evelyn with inscription by Finn K. , the primary baddie of the series Grisha appears before the protagonist Corleo , and his ally Elysia after they incapacitate their enemy Kuptula . Grisha had recruit Kuptula to his cause by promising to resurrect her child and he satisfy this promise to her here , bringing back her dead Logos . However , the resurrection is mentally ill and the Thomas Kyd collapses into goo , which surprises Grisha and stains his coat .
Later Grisha agrees to call off his attack in exchange for raise Minerva to his side , but not before that idol demon gives Corleo a kiss , which fluster the baddie of the series right alongside Elysia .
MamaYuyu’s Villain Is Unique From OtherShonen JumpAntagonists
These surprising moments in this chapter make Grisha unequalled from other main antagonists inShonen Jump . Most of the metre the ultimate scoundrel of a Shonen series is treated as a serious and distant figure , more dignified than the more banal villains beneath them . They also rarely direct press with the protagonist until the final electric arc of the series . While he is herculean , his unfitness to fully revive Kuptula ’s son involve Grisha is still comparatively weak as well .

Grisha gibe in nicely among a new generation of villain who hold up writing style anticipation , like thedisturbing Takauji fromShonen Jump’sThe Elusive Samurai . The baddie he may be closest to is Kaiju No . 9 fromKaiju No . 8 , who also had to grow over the course of that series . Hopefully even more newShonen Jumpseries will be able-bodied to follow inMamaYuyu ’s example and produce compelling and unpredictable villain like Grisha .
