Gatwa has presently take his first season as the new incarnation of the Time Lord , and is currently taking part in the production of episode set to air in 2025 . The actor ’s first full solo escapade as the Fifteenth Doctor will be 2023 ’s seasonal special " The Church on Ruby Road " , which will see him meet Modern companion Ruby Sunday ( Millie Gibson ) for the first clock time in the lead of their adventures in 2024 .

The thespian stated that not only did he need the chance to face off against the Daleks , but highlight Kate O’Mara ’s rogue Time Lord scientist The Rani as a dreaming showdown , though he was also excited for what Modern , terrific threats showrunner Russell T Davies has in store . I would like to go up against the Rani . I ’d like to encounter the Rani , and then I also would like , at some point , to face the Daleks . I ’m dreary , but I palpate like I want a barb of beating up the Daleks , so I want that as well .
I ’m so excited for the villains that I ’m about to front . Russell [ T. Davies , showrunner ] has created a whole raw world of scoundrel that ’s just so exciting and like we ’ve never seen onDoctor Whobefore . The Doctor is out of their depth quite a mess with hooey , and so we see stakes that we ’ve not quite had for the Doctor yet , which is very exciting .
