Screen Rantinterviewed Toby Kebbell aboutFor All Mankindseason 4 . He discussed Miles ' opportunistic brainpower and tease that he will recover the line he wo n’t queer later this time of year . Kebbell also broke down Miles ' relationships with Ilya and Sam , as well as what music he listened to while puzzle into his character ’s head .

Toby Kebbell Talks For All Mankind Season 4

Screen Rant : I fuck Miles . He ’s like the Zach Morris of space kind of . First of all , what did you think about Miles as a fibre ? What appeal you to the role ?

Toby Kebbell : When I read Miles , I mean , mind , the writing on the show , if anyone ’s a devotee already , the writing is superb . It ’s spotless , it ’s so well - think - out . So when I go the opportunity to read through it was a joyousness , a joy to take . Miles was so well scripted . He ’s this wide of the mark - eyed self-seeker , trying to seem like he ’s doing the good thing . I do n’t need much . I ’m an easygoing guy , but he ’s conduct to Mars and it ’s press , and pressure bring forth the better of him .

I think that was the beautiful arc I pose to read , at least , is if you get through the season to see what the pressure does to him as a person , that ’s what being an opportunist is . Sometimes it lead you down the ill-timed course . Sometimes you make misapprehension , but I see him as a trailblazer of Mars . He ’s a bozo who ’s just got to get it done . There ’s one style or another , there ’s more than one way to skin a qat , as they say , and he want to get it done .

For All Mankindis plausibly the best - write show on all of television , all of streaming . It is perfectly amazing . Every exclusive time of year , they step up their biz with what they ’re doing . Now , I have get to ask you about Miles ’s family relationship with Ilya , played by Dimiter D. Marinov . Talk to me about their relationship and how we see it progress throughout the line of the time of year .

Toby Kebbell : Dimiter , brilliant actor , theater trained , an incredible concert musician , by the way . A truly phenomenal , talented musician . You see him in Green Book , if you ’ve seen that picture . He is truly , really talented , and it was a joy when you ’ve got that form of discernment that we ’re up to mischief , that there ’s skullduggery afoot , he ’s the person you want on your team . That world takes , turns and moil over again the air pressure of everything . The downfall of a person who comes in wide of the mark - eyed and naive and never divulge that they have knowledge , and they know thing and kind of learns to say no and negotiate decently ends up making misunderstanding and problems for themselves .

And I think it was so interesting for me to get to play , but that ’s it . But yeah , I mean , Ilya as a character reference is brilliantly played , but again , brightly written , and we had so much play with it . I intend , the inadequate guy , there must be so many outtake . We had so much play . It was a joy . He ’s a dear , good friend . I ’m happy to say .

Joel Kinnaman and Krys Marshall in For All Mankind season 4

Imagine a world where the global space race never ended - For All Mankind is a thrilling “what if” take on history that explores what would have happened in the race to the moon between the Soviet Union and the United States, as well as the space programs and the race’s effects on the astronauts and their families in the aftermath. The Apple TV+ series hails from Ronald D. Moore and stars Joel Kinnaman as a NASA astronaut. For All Mankind also features historical astronauts like Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.

How far is mile uncoerced to go for pecuniary gain , and where is his line ?

Toby Kebbell : I call back that ’s the trouble with , again , being an opportunist . I do n’t think he knows his business line . He has n’t found a blood . He has n’t set a bound in himself . I ’m glad to say that lines will be revealed , and he will have boundaries set by violence , unluckily . But yeah , that ’s the answer . He does have a line , he does .

Now that Miles sided with the North Koreans , how much pressure is he under to bring Lee ’s wife to the colony ?

Toby Kebbell as Miles in For All Mankind

Toby Kebbell : Immense insistency , and I think he ’s one of those people who is always trying not only to look for the opportunity , but to search for the out . He has to have an out also . The teaser is not solved unless he knows , well , what ’s my out on this ? There ’s some great alignments that come along . I think it was act as with the intention of get it . It was seen as an opportunity that perhaps it was n’t going to take place . So he used that because what he want to do was not being respected .

I love that we ’re getting to see this work class on Mars . It ’s something that we have n’t explored in the show before , and one of the people who is up there with Miles is Sam . Can you sing about Miles ' relationship with Sam ?

Toby Kebbell : Yeah , Sam attractively played , again . Sam was the part that is kind of wise to it all , knowledgeable . She ’s learned a lot . She ’s kind of the key to so many threshold , specifically for Miles , but for everyone up there , it is a Brobdingnagian ensemble cast . But she really is a loss leader . She would be a president of Mars if she was give that chance . She ’s a echt leader , and I mean they deal a kind of spirit , but Miles does n’t know himself well enough to really agnise what ’s important , and it ’s throw forth .

Headshot of Michaela Conlin

It was a very sad scene where he ’s struggling . He ’s like , so can you take me out on the rover and do these things ? And she ’s like , no , dude . There ’s sorrow to be dealt with first . And he ’s like , what does that mean ? What can we do about it ? Nothing can be done . It ’s misguide . So it ’s great to see these mistakes and not make them dramatic and important . You catch it or you do n’t , but it ’s a great rewatch show , I always say .

This season takes station in the former 2000s , and one matter I love aboutFor All Mankindis that we get to see each decade throughout the show and the medicine plays along with the show . What was on Toby ’s play list in early 2000 that would be in his timeline ?

Toby Kebbell : The song I was in reality listening to , strangely enough , were the original Busta Rhymes albums . I do n’t desire to get into a whole articulatio coxae hops debate . I know I have a lot of aficionados out there . Busta Rhymes for me , along with Biggie gave me so much strong point and braveness , but Busta Rhymes specifically give me this signified of humor I could n’t quite hold on , in a way .

Headshot of Jodi Balfour

It was like a signified of humor about the rage , and he just is . Those first two albums are so kind of , I detest to say this and I ’ll be shut down on your platform , but they ’re whimsical and they ’re full of loftiness , and for me , they ’re beautiful . So I know there was lots of other thing to mind to , but Busta Rhymes , he brings me joy , and when I drive to study and I listen to him , he brings me joy and it allow me to let go of accent . I do n’t have it off . He ’s like a strain management for me .
