The trailer also features Paul ’s mother Lady Jessica talking with her son and the Fremen rallying around him . There is a coup d’oeil of Christopher Walken ’s Emperor , who was mentioned but did not make an appearance in the first picture show , and a collage of natural process scene .

The Fremen will play a much more prominent role in the second picture as Paul becomes more entrenched in their culture and becomes their prophesied leader , with riding the sandworm being a crucial part of his journeying . More direction on the Fremen means that Zendaya ’s lineament Chani will have a lot more sieve time inDune : Part Two . Villenueve has teasedPaul and Chani ’s romanticism as being the heartof the continuation and the key to this story being much more emotional than its predecessor .
As Chani and the Fremen become more central to the narrative , several unexampled characters will egress as well , including Walken ’s Emperor , Pugh , as the Emperor ’s girl , Princess Irulan , and Butler ’s Feyd - Rautha . The Harkonnens and the Emperor ’s army , the Sardaukar , decimated the forces of House Atreides and ended the reign of Duke Leto Atreides , but their crimes were not enough , with their mogul now even more threatened by Paul and those who conceive in him . This necessitates the Emperor to become now involved , along withBaron Vladimir Harkonnen ’s ruthless nephew Feyd - Rautha .
Prior to the end of the novel , Princess Irulan is only in the story through the epigraphs written by her at the beginning of each chapter , but the trailers signal she will play a more alive persona in the story . All the while , Paul will get faithful to his portion , a fate that is far more complex and potentially dark than simply becoming a poor boy . Every tease forDune : Part Twomakes it an even more exciting prospect , and it remains poise to be one of the self-aggrandising picture of 2024 .
